The New Frontier Democratic Club is the oldest and largest African American Democratic Club in the State of California. We are fortunate to have a majority of the regions’ African American Elected Officials as members.
At its Installation and Awards Program, NFDC recognizes individuals and organizations that have made an exemplary contribution toward enhancing the quality of life in the community. Events such as this, together with Voter Registration Programs, Issues Forums, Youth Outreach, and participation in the California Democratic Council, Democratic County Committee, Democratic State Party and organized labor enables the Club to maintain its focus on the following goals:
Advancement requires opportunities in education, jobs, politics and the business space. Our young people need exposure to these systems in ways that go beyond traditional education and we’re advocating to gain access to those tools and paradigms.
Access to the strongest parts of the economy are the greatest predictor of the health, well being and strength of a family. From illness to upheaval in the jobs market there are many things that can impede a family’s progress. This same access however dictates the resources a family has at its disposal to to pivot, move on and transform itself.
Legacy is the furtherance of self and family. Investment and insurance tools exist that help take the sting out of loss in addition to entities that are the proper prescription for transferring access to a family’s wealth without being encumbered with the ownership. These varying tools have to be more heavily promoted and utilized to spawn increased mobility while sustaining legacy.
On Saturday, June 7, 2025, New Frontier Democratic Club will host its 65th Annual Awards Dinner at the Commerce Casino & Hotel, located at 6151 Telegraph Road, Commerce, California. The theme of this year’s dinner is “The Task is Ours: Unite and Win Our Democracy”. Founded in 1960, New Frontier Democratic Club (NFDC) is the oldest and largest Democratic Club in the State of California and has been a stalwart advocate for civil rights, social justice, and progressive policies. Our unwavering commitment to fostering positive change within our community has been the cornerstone of our legacy.
We are a storied people with a history that’s become lore and lineage of overcoming and victory. Though our path often fraught with peril, we have met all comers with a proud bent and fearlessness for these our most precious heirlooms are that which we wield against all tomorrow’s challenges.
Just as the Country has gone from 13 Colonies to 50 states, our people have branched out acquiring varying skills, holdings and achievements. Even now as many aspects of our connection to the land get revisited, we’ve had to improve and find ways to protect and maintain what we have at every level. Despite all our gains and achievements the reality on the ground is the more things change the more they stay the same.
This explains why our greatest gains have come when we’ve gathered as a community to further our collective objectives, securing our collective needs. We need members, input and solutions from every part of our community. We want to hear from you. Our community is not monolithic and it can only prosper when we are willing to hear all voices and advocate for every need.
